I want some family photos as well as single shots of my baby is that alright?

No problem! Since there is no limit on poses, we usually like to mix it up with just mom or just dad, the whole family as well as a variety of individual poses.

My baby is only a few weeks old, what is a good age to bring him in?

Any age is fine! We have worked with newborns thru to great grandparents. The most popular ages for 1st year shoots tend to be:

  • brand new (first few weeks) - Great for the "littlest" baby shots. Perfect time for baby feet and hands and the snuggly newborn shots. They tend to sleep alot at this age, and curl up in little baby balls!
  • 1-3 months - More awake, but still little enough for all the toes, fingers and little baby shots.
  • 3-6 months - More smiles at this age, stronger head support - so more options.
  • 6-9 months - Full of smiles and activity great options for props at this age as well. (My personal favorite age!)
  • 12 months - This is one of the most popular ages for photos - The first birthday! Again, great age for even more props

All ages are welcome. We have props and concepts for everybody.

I saw some photos online I really like, can you do a similar style?

Absolutely, we pride ourselves on being flexible to a wide array of styles and effects. If you have seen a photo in a magazine or online and you would like us to do a similar style for you, please feel free to bring in a copy on your shoot. If the photo requires additional props we don’t have listed, please ask us about it in advance and we will do our best to prepare for it.

I have 2 dogs I would like to have photos of them with the family. Do you allow pets?

Bring them in! We love animals and even have a few animals of our own. I also do "fur baby" shoots as well. Please give us notice, so I can make sure none of my animals sneak into my office. Also, those with allergies - I would reccomend bringing along allergy meds - just incase.

Your prices seem much lower than other photographers. whats the catch?

There is NO catch!
By running our studio out of my home, I have the ability to charge less for what I do. The whole company concept is based on what I did not like from other companies when I had my daughter. There is no pushy sales, no additional fees and no hidden costs.
I also understand as a parent, how frustrating it can be to try and get amazing and unique photos for a reasonable price. Although some companies may offer a lower priced “sitting fee” or a cheap package, usually there is a catch such as limited poses, only small files on the cdrom, and usually the cost of ordering the prints after the fact can add up FAST.

I have a few different outfits I want to see my daughter in, can I have outfit changes?

Definitely. We like to give you a mixture of photos and that includes different outfits. There is no rush on the shoot and our overall goal is to give you a nice mix of poses and styles. However, usually we only reccomend 2 outfits, as most kids will just begin to get grumpy with too many outfit changes.

How far in advance do I need to book?

I do my best to work you in with busy schedules. Depending on the time of year, I can usually book you in a few days in advance for weekdays and a few weeks in advance for weekends. Please keep in mind that if you are planning on a weekend shoot, they tend to book up several weeks in advance.
* September 1st thru Mid December does get extremely busy, weekend slots and holidays tend to be booked 10 weeks in advance (weekdays about 2 weeks in advance). I do sometimes get last minute cancellations, so always check anyways to see if your prefered day is available. We do keep a cancellation list, so if something opens up we can contact you.

What are your hours of operation?

We work around the clock. We know how full time work can limit family availability so we book 6-7 days a week (depending on the season). Photo sessions are at 10am, 11:30am and 1:00pm on weekdays. Some nights have evening available at 6:00 Saturday session times are usually 10:00, 11:30, 1:00 and 2:30. Sometimes there are later times available in the busy season. (If you require a shoot at a unique time, please call us and we can do our best to work with your schedule).

How long does the photo shoot take?

We set aside 1 hour and 30 minutes for each shoot. Usually they take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour (sometimes a little longer). We know kids can get grouchy or hungry and there is no rush to ensure we get great pics. Take time for a feeding, or a change without the worry of your time being up. However, as each session is booked with 1.5 hours dedicated for your shoot, If you are late for your session - you will still only have the original time slot as there is a high chance another shoot will be right after yours.

I am 4 months pregnant and want maternity photos, when is a good time to get them done?

That all depends on how full you would like the belly to be. We have done some as early as 6 months through to the due date. For the best belly shots, we suggest the last month of pregnancy, but not too late, you never know when baby will come!

What sort of payment do you take?

Since we are a home based studio we take cash, cheque, email transfer or paypal on the day of the shoot.

How many people can I have in one shoot?

There is no limit. We have had multiple generations in and extended families. These sessions do tend to take a bit longer. If you have multiple families with kids ( brothers family, sisters family and grandparents), we usually recommend getting a Larger photo package, or setting up a special package. This way you get to take advantage of the unlimited props and poses!

What props and costumes do you have?

See our props page for updates. Our collection is always growing so if you had an item in mind, let us know.

How does the whole process work?

When you come in for your shoot, we talk about what styles of photos you like (black and white) color, high contrast, artsy etc. After viewing some styles, we start with the shoot. During the shoot we take over 100 photos as babies facial expressions can change dramatically from one shot to the next.
After the shoot is complete Rosie reviews all the photos and chooses the best poses to touch up. Each photo is touched up for best color and we remove any flaws (a face scratch or acne). Once the photos are complete, I email you a photo link to see your photos online. I then mail you the cd or you are welcome to pick it up when it is ready. Most packages take about 4 weeks (1 month to the date of your shoot), however if you need it sooner please let us know and we will do our best to get it to you sooner. Also, for people needing a faster turn around there is an additional $50 charge (on a first come, first served basis).

What if there are more than 30 “GREAT” photos

If I am torn between a few extra great shots, usually I just toss them in as well at no charge. There are no hidden add on sales and no print ordering, so we always give you the best of the bunch.

How do I get them printed?

Check out our Printing Page for tips and tricks I have gathered over the years.
